Hi all,

I will be smoke-testing the new beacon power supply with the old beacon hardware (~10W out of a crystal-controlled radio to a halo around 12ft AGL), starting 6pm to 10pm EST on Feb 22nd.  Signal reports (strength AND quality) are especially welcome during this time!  Note that it may drift as much as a few hundred Hz depending on environment... after all it is about 40 years old!

If successful, I will start it back up on Saturday and leave it in service until something goes wrong, or until the new beacon hardware is ready (hopefully within a couple weeks).  The new beacon is much more stable and precise, as well as being about twice as powerful, so I'm sure you will hear the difference when it is put in service.  Of course I will also post here.
