Seems hard to believe but I see them online advertised as being good at legal limit.

Never used SMA here however.

Good luck

Subject: [Mich VHF UHF Society] Power rating for SMA relays?

MIVUSers:

I am hoping that someone here on the reflector can offer some advice
concerning the power ratings for SMA coaxial relays at 902 MHz.

A couple of months ago I bought some 902 MHz gear from a guy out in New
York who was part of a mountain topping group. I got a 10W DEMI
transverter, one of the 300W Motorola 900 MHz cell phone amps, a DEMI
LNA in a weatherproof box with switching relays, and a 900 MHz receive
bandpass filter

There are two SMA relays in the weatherproof box; one switches the
antenna between the transmit and receive signal paths, while the other
switches the LNA input to a dummy load when not receiving (e.g., when
transmitting or when the power to the box is OFF).

I'm concerned about the antenna relay, which would carry the output of
the Motorola amp during transmit (somewhere between 200-300W depending
on which conversion article you believe).

I'd appreciate any advice as to whether I should to upgrade this relay.
Meanwhile, I've also e-mailed the guy I purchased the gear from to
confirm whether they ran the amp with the remote preamp box. I plan to
run a sequencer, so the relay shouldn't experience "hot-switching".

Thanks in advance for any advice. I hope to have this stuff running in
time for the September VHF QSO Party.
