I have the capability here and would enjoy doing some on 144 and 432 myself.

WSPR or WSJT sound interesting. I am set up for both 144 band 432 but the ultra narrow band mode would be fun to try with relatively low power and just a loop for an antenna. I have done EME and SSB in the past but am not sure what the best interface and setup is and what would be needed between my rig (FT847) and the computer (HP I7 + 12 GB RAM).

I tried WSPR on 144 MHz a couple of times with a ham in Canada, but neither of us heard anything. I suspect that our oscillators were not stable enough. Carol KP4MD in California uses WSPR on both 144 and 432 with pretty good success, but I know she uses a very stable oscillator. I see her posts on Facebook quite a bit.

Next time I'm in the shack, Dan, I'll look for you on the ON4KST site and we'll give it a try.

I'd be willing to give it a go once I get an antenna in the air and the cables/adapters for the computer to the rig. Probably sometime late spring.

Heck, I'd like to try WSPR on VHF+, but I think I need a more stable oscillator.

From the west coast I tried for years to get others to try digital on 144mhz to no avail. Other than the EME and meteor scatter guys everyone else always has some excuse for why they don't. Here in MI I've had a little more success at getting people to try digital, but for the most part it is just like my experiences on the west coast, and that is they are either not interested and indifferent or irrationally hostile to the idea. I'll participate if you can get it started but I'm done, sorry to say, with trying to actively recruit people to experiment with digital modes.

If anyone on the list wants to experiment you can find me on the KST 6m and 2m chat most of the time and I'll be happy to oblige.

Is there anyone in or near Michigan that would like to try PSK-31 on 144 MHz? The guys in Texas are giving it a try. Might be something interesting to do until the propagation improves. Here is info on what they are doing in Texas.

      --------------------

We’ll be at it again; Saturday Morning, 2-meter PSK-31 round table at 8:00 a.m. central time. Frequency, 144.150, USB.
There are a handful of us in the east Texas area, EM22 that will be on the air calling CQ on BPSK-31 from 8:00 a.m. until around 9:00 a.m.
We have made contacts with stations in the Dallas and Houston Areas using 20 to 25 watts.
For the most part we are all using horizontally polarized antennas, but if you only have a vertical, go ahead and give a listen and or a call.
We will hijack the Rusk County Amateur Radio Club’s chat page again to coordinate with each other.
Go here, http://www.ruskcountyarc.com/ then click on the NET tab and sign in as a guest with your call sign, followed by your name.

We eventually migrate to 144.200 and try some USB voice contacts, so keep that in mind as we get closer to 9:00 a.m.
