Hi Brandon,

I don't know much about it. He told me the call sign
of the British guy who programs the chip for him but I
didn't note it as he was going to see about getting it
changed. I will take it down as time permits and see
what's inside.

Stan, do you know what chip is being used? I could
possibly change the callsign for you. Or maybe I could
build another ID keyer circuit. How many watts is that
beacon? de N8PUM Brandon

Having known Lloyd for over 40 years;
knowing his passion for VHF/UHF and
especially microwave equipment and activity;
considering his dedication to activating
many grids on many bands through Rovering
both during and outside of contests and
having benefited from his willingness to
share that knowledge, I can’t think of a
better way to pay tribute to him and his
legacy. Lloyd was a smart, talented, humble
man who would probably decline such a
suggestion. But having a Club call sign
that represented something other than just a
randomly issued extra class vanity call sign
is an honor fitting NE8I’s contributions to
VHF/UHF. I support and second the
nomination of NE8I to become the new MIVUS
Club call and the issuing of NE8I/b for any
club sponsored or supported beacons located
around the Sate of Michigan. With regard
to NE8I/b or NE8I/p operations QSL cards,
there needs to be some thought and
discussion hi hi.
