TONIGHT'S NET ANNOUNCEMENT<br>
As usual, WB9LYH in EN54cl, Central WI, will be on 144.240 at 9pm,
targeting eastern time zone first. Mark had a very enjoyable and
active net on June 30th. Feel free to read all about it at

website. <br>
There will be thunderstorms in parts of the Midwest/Great Lakes
tonight. It's also warm and humid, so propagation could be
"interesting". If you can safely get on and operate, stop by
tonight and say hello. <br>

CQ WW VHF Contest is this weekend, July 16-17. CQ
WW VHF is held on 6 and 2 meters. The bread-and-butter bands of
VHF'ing. <br>

plus it includes a link to the interactive Google spreadsheet where Midwest and
Great Lakes VHF'ers are posting their contest plans. Take one minute to

share this info with hams everywhere. <br>

It's also not too early to mention that there *<b>WILL</b>*
be a UHF Contest the first Saturday in August. It just won't be hosted by
ARRL, who has temporarily given up on it. <br>
If you are a VHF/UHF'er who still values bands like 222,
432, 902, 1296 MHz. Heck even 10 gig... then read this post promoting the

And as always, SPREAD THE WORD. Some UHF'ers will simply follow the
ARRL lead here, shrug their shoulders and say, "Oh well, no contest,
that's that." That is incorrect. Many UHF'ers across the
country are making an effort this August. Get on the air and stand up for
the UHF contest. Make ARRL care enough to take the UHF contest
seriously. <br>
