Tom,

Thanks for your note - sorry to hear that your plans to go to MUD got
waylayed by a work project.

I'm in the mode now that I'm reviewing the calendar to see if anything
is in the way. So far, I'm good to go and while I haven't made a firm
decision yet, I'd say it's probably better than 50/50 that I'll go.

I would have enjoyed meeting up with you and your wife at the 2010
CSVHF. I was trying to be on the lookout for any eight-landers but I
found none. They had the big posterboard on an easel in the
registration area, but I must have missed your callsigns.

Fortunately, the Northern Lights Radio Society guys we kind enough to
include me in some of their social events, so I wasn't alone ALL of the
time.

Good luck getting your DEMI 10GHZ systme running. I bought a complete
"white box" commercial 10 GHz system from WA3ZKR at the Moorhead
conference, but the mods to make it work are extensive and I just don't
have the test gear to get it working. NE8I offered to help, but it
still may be too much.

The Moorhead conference was a real hoot. It was held on the campus of
Moorhead University, which is a small school whose focus is space
science. They have a 70' dish which came from from government
installation down in Florida which they installed on a mountain top.
During the conference we got a tour of it up on the mountain, and also
toured the ground control station. All of the technical presentations
at the conference were given in their planetarium, with everyone laying
on our backs in plush recliners and watching the PowerPoint
presentations projected on the domed ceiling :-) If they ever have the
SEVHF Conference there again, I'll try to go - it was a lot of fun.
It's only about a six hour drive from Detroit.

Yes, if I go I'll certainly report back to the MIVUS.
