[Mich VHF UHF Society] Fwd: Log deadline for August UHF Contest

For those of us who participated in the independently-sponsored August 
UHF Contest last month, here is a reminder from the sponsors that the 
log submittal deadline is September 6.

There was a .pdf list of logs received attached to the original e-mail 
that you can check to see if your log was received.  I'm not sure that 
the MIVUS reflector will allow attachments, so if not you can follow 
this URL to the contest website to view the same list on-line:

I think most of us are aware of the recent history of this event, how 
the ARRL created this contest 40 years ago, then dropped it earlier this 
year only to have its sponsorship picked up by an independent group led 
by N6NB.  It is to the benefit of VHF/UHF operating in general for us to 
participate in this event and to send in our logs.

In a quick browse of the list, I saw my call, KF8QL/R and W8RU.  Anyone 
missing?

Hi, Everyone.  This is a reminder and a request.  It's a reminder that
the log deadline for the August UHF Contest is 1800z on September 6,
just a few days away.

The request is for you to look at the listing of logs received so far (attached
as a pdf).  If you know anyone who was on for even a small part of the
contest but has not yet submitted a log, please encourage them to send in
a log.  With 160 logs now (one more than the 159 shown in this latest
download), we're getting close to a higher log count than we had in the
last several years of ARRL sponsorship.  It would be wonderful if we
could have the most logs ever submitted in this contest--about 250
logs.  That would make a clear statement that this is a viable contest
as it heads toward its 40th birthday next year!  Please help if you can.

The website (www.uhfcontest.org) has detailed instructions for submitting
logs.  It can be as simple as mailing a handwritten log to K9JK at the
address shown on the website's log submission page.  Or you can submit
a cabrillo log to augustuhf at kkn.net and you'll receive a receipt by email.
There's an online sample of a cabrillo log in a suitable format.

By the way, K9JK underwent back surgery Aug. 13--and still managed to
keep posting reports of logs received almost every day.  I think he deserves
a special award for that.  He should be at home by the time you read this.
