Roger - are you sure you weren't over saturated? Was your AGC level at 0?

Subject: [Mich VHF UHF Society] results of PSK-31 test tonight

I was able to work KB8U in EN71sw on PSK-31. Thanks Russ! Signals were
very strong at the beginning, but copy was intermittent. Russ turned
his beam away and got 100% copy for a while. I did also. However the
band faded and the copy did too. It seemed as though the signal
strength had to be in a sweet spot for solid copy. I may have some
transmitter drift causing problems too. In my IC-746, the fan comes on
every time I transmit, and this causes the oscillator to drift. when I
stop transmitting, the frequency drifts back to "normal". I have seen
this effect also on JT-65b. It looks like I need to dig into my rig and
make the N0UK mods.
